Puerto Galera’s many islands and isolated beaches offer the perfect opportunity to have a special picnic or beach BBQ.
Getting there is half the fun, a short bangka ride provides great scenery and a most pleasant way to travel. Then just spend the day swimming, lazing in a cool river stream, snacking, doing a bit of exploring or getting stuck into a big spread and a nice cool drink.
Afterwards enjoy the ride home with a late afternoon “cold one” or chilled glass of wine. A great way to spend a day out in Puerto Galera!
Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing. What better way to spend the day than relaxing on a lovely beach taking an occasional swim in the beautiful warm water, or being pampered by a full body massage and manicure.
And if you feel the urge, you can hire some snorkel gear or just enjoy a cold drink from the local beach vendors. And at the end of the day, enjoy a pre-dinner drink as the sun sets casting its glow on the islands in Verde Passage.
At Small La Laguna and Big La Laguna Beaches, just put on your mask and snorkel and slip into the water and you will enjoy some of the best snorkeling you can imagine 30 metres from shore.
Being mostly quite shallow, it is ideal for beginners, but equally enjoyable for the most experienced. All the necessary equipment is readily available for hire on the beach at modest rates, including safety vests. Or hire a bangka and make a day of it by visiting a whole range of snorkeling and swimming sites.
Feel like letting off some steam? Then an afternoon at the private and secluded Puerto Galera Shooting Range might just be what you need!

Don't worry if you've never fired a gun before, instructors are available to help whatever your skill level.
Not far from Puerto Galera are the very impressive 140 metre Tamaraw Falls, where you can enjoy a BBQ or picnic and just let the refreshing waters crash and cascade over you while you relax in one of the many rock pools.
Further afield you can trek or take a buffalo cart to the magnificent Tukuran Falls, a beautiful spot where the waterfalls have carved out the surrounding boulders over thousands of years into pools and small falls.
How about a jungle trek to a cool inland stream or hot spring for swimming. For the less engergetic, part of the journey can be done by water buffalo!
Or why not join the Puerto Galera Hash House Harriers for their weekly Saturday afternoon fun run and get to see a bit of the Mindoro countryside that you would not normally experience?
